Eric Kripke (born 1974) is an American writer and television producer best known for creating Supernatural (2005–2020) and serving as its showrunner for the first five seasons. He has also created and produced Revolution (2012–2014), Timeless (2016–2018), and The Boys (2019–present).
Raised in Sylvania Township, Ohio, Kripke attended Sylvania Southview High School before studying at the University of Southern California. Early in his career, he gained attention with his short film Truly Committed, which won an audience choice award at the Slamdance Film Festival. He later wrote for Tarzan (2003) and co-wrote the horror film Boogeyman (2005).
Kripke was involved in developing several projects, including an adaptation of DC Comics’ Deadman and a Cinemax series based on The Boys, which later moved to Amazon Prime. His influence in genre television continues with his work on The Boys and its spinoffs.
