American actor Edward Sonnenblick (born June 27, 1970) is well-known for his roles in Indian movies and television shows. In films like Firangi (2017), Veere Di Wedding (2018), Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), Kesari (2019), and RRR (2022), he has acted as the lead. He made guest appearances in shows like The Kapil Sharma Show and Jhansi Ki Rani.
Edward Sonnenblick was raised in San Francisco after being born in Southern California. He earned a BS in botany from Humboldt State University. Later, he spent 15 years working as a chef specializing in natural foods in Northern California.
Edward traveled to Mumbai to try to make it as an actor after learning Hindi. The 2001 Hindi film Lagaan served as Edward’s inspiration. For a two-week study at the Vipassana International Academy in Igatpuri, Nashik, he traveled to India in 2005. In Jhansi Ki Rani, he later played the dual role of villainous British twin brothers. In 2017, Edward served as the host of the Epic Channel’s Indipedia series. He has performed in movies including RRR, Veere Di Wedding, and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
