Derek Kolstad is an American screenwriter and producer who was born on April 4, 1974. The John Wick franchise, which he created, debuted in 2014. He is primarily recognized as an action movie and television program screenwriter, and he proceeded to write for the first two franchise sequels. Kolstad, who is originally from Madison, Wisconsin, went to Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart before attending Taylor University in Indiana to study business administration. At the age of 24, he relocated to California to pursue a career in screenwriting. He claims that although he began creating movies as a teenager, he initially had trouble making a name for himself in Hollywood.
