Deepshikha Deshmukh

Biography:

In Kolkata, West Bengal, on October 29, 1983, Deshmukh was born to film producer Vashu Bhagnani and his spouse, Pooja Bhagnani. Jackky Bhagnani, her younger brother, is a producer and performer.

Deshmukh has produced a number of films under the Pooja Entertainment production company. Among the Bollywood films she has produced are the remake of 1995’s Coolie No. 1 and the 2020 release Jawaani Jaaneman. The organic skincare company Love Organically was also started by Deshmukh.

At Pooja Entertainment, Deepshikha Deshmukh is in charge of strategy and production. In 2016, she made her producing debut with the film “Sarbjit,” starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda. She is renowned for supporting social causes and important films. ‘Madaari’, starring Irrfan Khan, is one of the subject-oriented films she has chosen.  Additionally, she co-produced “Sarvann,” the debut Punjabi film from Pooja Entertainment, alongside Priyanka Chopra.

She produced the movie “Welcome to New York” in 2018. Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh, and Karan Johar were the film’s main actors. She also produced “Dil Juunglee,” which starred Taapsee Pannu and Saqib Saleem, the same year.

She produced the 2020 movie Jawaani Jaaneman, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, and Alaya F. Alaya made her professional debut in the movie as well. A remake of the 1995 movie, Coolie No. 1 (2020), was made available on an over-the-top platform at the end of the same year. Pooja Entertainment produced both the original movie and the remake.

The spy thriller “BellBottom,” which was released in 2021 and had Akshay Kumar in the lead role along with Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi, was Deshmukh’s next production. It proved to be a business failure. Her next project as a producer is the multilingual historical drama “Suryaputra Mahavir Karna,” which is directed by R.S. Vimal. She previously worked as a producer on the action drama Ganapath, which starred Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.
