Deeksha Sonalkar, also known as Deeksha Kanwal Sonalkar, was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her parents were Maharashtrian father Manoj Sonalkar and Punjabi mother Ramneek Kanwal Sonalkar. After attending Jasudben M. L. School till the tenth grade, she finished her junior year at Sophia Women’s College. R. D. National College in Mumbai awarded her a Bachelor of Mass Media degree. She has had classical instruction as an Odissi dancer from her mother and Guru Rabindra Atibuddi. In the tenth grade, she tried out for a part in her school play, which marked the beginning of her acting career.
In the drama My Fair Lady, which was based on George Bernard Shaw’s novel Pygmalion, she portrayed Eliza Dolittle. After that, she joined and performed with a number of theatrical companies before making her television debut on Colours TV’s Bani-Ishq Da Kalma, which was produced by Mystic, The Entertainment Company, and Colosseum.
