Debashish Irengbam is a novelist, scriptwriter, storyteller, and Indian writer of Hindi literature. He is originally from Manipur, India’s Imphal. He enrolled at Delhi University to pursue an Honours Bachelor of English degree. After finishing third at the University of Delhi, he was awarded a bronze medal of merit. Later on, he finished a post-graduate degree program in feature film screenwriting at Pune, Maharashtra’s “Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).” He is a vegetarian and a Libra by zodiac. He has been residing in Maharashtra’s Mumbai.
At the age of 14, Debashish Irengbam developed a passion for writing. The Film and Television Institute of India offered a one-year scriptwriting course that served as the foundation for his career. In 2010, he moved to Mumbai to begin his first work as an assistant writer. He works as a novelist and scriptwriter in Mumbai. He served as the chief writer and creative consultant for the crime procedural drama Arjun – Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek, which ran for 76 episodes on the Star Plus network.
He has authored the dialogue, storyline, and script for a number of television show episodes. A few of the shows are “Aahat” on Sony Channel, “Super Cops V/S Super Villains” on Life Ok Channel, “Zindagi Wins” on Bindass Channel, “Agent Raghav” on & TV Channel, and many more. As a freelance writer, he also authored the storyline, language, and script for a number of episodes of the popular thriller television program “Adaalat” in its second season.
In addition, he penned “Me, Mia, Multiple,” his debut book, which HarperCollins Publishers India released on July 1, 2015. The love tale of these two fairly dysfunctional people is the basis for this book. Charlie Next Door, his upcoming book, was released by HarperCollins Publishers India in December 2017. With co-scriptwriter Anshul Vijayvargiya, he has penned over a hundred episodes of various criminal thrillers for Indian television, a feat he is proud of. Since April 2019, he has worked as a scriptwriter at Dharmatic Entertainment Private Limited in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He has been employed by Dharmatic Entertainment Private Limited to work on a web series.
He is a member of the governing body and co-founder of the non-governmental organization “Milaan Be the Change.” The NGO takes the lead in providing vital management skills training, with a focus on retail sales management, personality development, teamwork, and leadership skills development, to young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds around Delhi.
