As one of the original members of the well-known rock group Priestbird, Danny Bensi made his film score debut with the 2010 feature Two Gates of Sleep, co-composing the soundtrack with his friend and longtime partner Saunder Jurriaans. The pair has since gone on to establish their reputation in the film industry with a string of critically acclaimed independent features, including the psychological thriller Enemy (2013), the thriller The Gift (2015), the thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), and the supernatural horror film The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016).
They received the 2014 Canadian Screen Award for Best Music for their work in the Jake Gyllenhaal film Enemy, which won Bensi and Jurriaans. Additional noteworthy releases in Bensi’s repertoire including the science fiction thriller The One I Love (2014), the noir thriller Frank & Lola (2016), the romantic crime thriller Siberia (2018), Boy Erased (2018), The Rental (2020), and The Devil All the Time (2020).
