Adamson Alade-Bo “Damson” Idris is a British-Nigerian actor, producer, and businessman who was born on September 2, 1991. The criminal drama Snowfall, starring John Singleton, premiered on FX on July 5, 2017, and ran for six seasons until its conclusion in 2023. In 2021, he co-starred in the sci-fi action movie Outside the Wire on Netflix, and in 2025, he played Formula One racer Joshua Pearce in the sports drama F1.
Idris was born into a Yoruba-descended Nigerian household in Peckham, South East London. Out of six children, he is the youngest. Philippa, his mother, is a businesswoman. In honor of his grandfather, Adam Alade Idris, he was given the name Adamson. As a football player, Idris aspired to be “the next Cristiano Ronaldo.” In addition, he played rugby and shook Queen Elizabeth II’s hand on her Golden Jubilee in 2002 with his squad. Idris attended Brunel University in London to study drama. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Theatre, Film, and Television Studies. In 2024, the university presented him with an Alumni Award for Outstanding Contribution to Culture and Creativity. Following graduation, Idris trained with John Boyega, Letitia Wright, and Malachi Kirby at the Identity School of Acting in London.
