Costume Krishna, who lived from 1937 to April 2, 2023, was a notable Telugu film actor and producer. He had a versatile career in the film industry, primarily known for his roles as a villain and in supporting characters. Additionally, Costume Krishna ventured into film production and was involved in the production of eight films during his career.
Costume Krishna hailed from Lakkavarapukota in the Vizianagaram district. In 1954, he relocated to Chennai and began his career in the film industry as an assistant costumer. He quickly gained recognition for his skills as a costume designer, providing attire for renowned actors like NTR, ANR, Chiranjeevi, and leading actresses such as Vanishree, Jayasudha, Jayaprada, and Sridevi.
Costume Krishna transitioned into acting, making his debut in the movie “Bharat Bandh,” directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, whom he regarded as his mentor. He also ventured into film production, notably producing “Pellipandiri,” starring Jagapathi Babu as the lead, in which he also had a role. Additionally, he remade a successful Kannada film titled “Arundhati.”
Sadly, Costume Krishna passed away on April 2, 2023, at the age of 85 due to illness at his residence in Chennai. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.
