Christopher Plummer
Biography:
Christopher Plummer was a renowned Canadian actor who acted for more than seven decades in theatre, film, and television. Plummer was born in Toronto, Canada on December 13, 1929. Plummer started his career as an actor in the theatre and was known as one of the best Shakespearean and classical actors. Plummer rose to international acclaim through playing Captain Georg von Trapp in the movie The Sound of Music (1965). Some of the acclaimed movies in which Christopher Plummer acted included The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Insider (1999), A Beautiful Mind (2001), and The Last Station (2009).
Christopher Plummer got nominated three times in Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor and won the award for Beginners (2010) making him the oldest person to win an Academy acting award at 82 years of age. Some of the other movies in which Christopher Plummer acted were The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Knives Out (2019), and All the Money in the World (2017) and got nominated for Oscars once again. Plummer was also an Emmy Award winner twice and also a Golden Globe winner and Tony Award winner and hence was the first person to have all the American entertainment awards. Christopher Plummer passed away on February 5, 2021, in his house in Connecticut aged 91 years.
