Indian comedian Chelladurai (1941–February 7, 2015) appeared in Tamil-language motion pictures. He appeared in more than 350 movies.
The first movie that Chelladurai starred in was Thooral Ninnu Pochchu (1982). His comedic scenes with actor Vadivelu are well-known.
He rose to fame as the proprietor of the Prabha wine shop in the 2002 film Shree. In the scenario, Marimuthu (Vadivelu), a robber, breaks into the store and contacts the owner to inquire about the opening time. The store closed, the owner informs him. Vadivelu drinks alcohol and repeatedly disturbs the shop owner during the night
After experiencing kidney troubles for several months, Chelladurai was hospitalized to Chennai’s Keezhpakkam Government Hospital on February 8. Due to high blood pressure, he passed away on February 7, 2015.
