Carl Andrew Harte

Biography:

Carl has had a varied career in the performing arts, from Western classical opera in Australia to Indian cinema and everything in between. He has won praise from critics for his work. The Telegraph called Carl “a scene-stealer” for his portrayal of Charles Tegart in the 2023 Bengali smash Bagha Jatin, while the Times praised him as “impressive.”

Carl most recently starred in the epic Dhurandhar as David Headley. In 2025, he also portrayed John Ferguson in Raghu Dakat, Governor General William Hastings in Devi Chowdhurani: Bandit Queen of Bengal, and Lord Hunter in the popular Akshay Kumar film Kesari 2: The Untold Story of Sankaran Nair. In 2022, he became well-known in southern India for his role as the loving parent William Shafton in the Tamil romantic comedy Prince. In Bengal, he gained notoriety for his portrayal of the sociopathic Alfred Petty in the Zee Bangla serial Mukti. Carl will solidify his position in Indian cinema with a significant role in the upcoming biopic GDN, starring R. Madhavan.
