Binu Pappu

Biography:

Binu Pappu is an Indian actor and assistant director active in the Malayalam film industry. He is recognized for his performances in movies like Helen, One, Operation Java, and Bheemante Vazhi. Alongside acting, he has also worked as an assistant director, collaborating with filmmaker Aashiq Abu on projects such as Virus (2019), Naradan (2022), and Thallumaala (2022), as well as contributing to films like Ambili (2019), Halal Love Story (2020), One (2021), and Saudi Vellakka (2022).

Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Binu is the son of the late veteran actor Kuthiravattam Pappu, who passed away in 2000. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in History at Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College and is married to Ashita Alex.

Before entering the film industry, Binu worked as an animator in Bengaluru for 13 years. He made his acting debut in Gunda, directed by Salim Baba, sharing screen space with Kalabhavan Mani and Tini Tom. He later collaborated with Aashiq Abu on Gangster (2014) and Rani Padmini (2015). His portrayal of Joy Pulimoottil in the crime thriller Operation Java (2021) was well received by critics.

In addition to his acting career, Binu has served as an assistant director on several notable projects, including Mayaanadhi, Virus (2019), Naradan (2022), Thallumaala (2022), Ambili (2019), Halal Love Story (2020), and One (2021).
