Biography:

Similar to the Goan music he is so devoted to, Bardroy Barretto arrived on the Bombay shores in pursuit of a bigger stage. He was fascinated by the stories that movies could bring to life and was wide-eyed and inquisitive about their power.

He began as an assistant cameraman in 1987, but his natural curiosity pulled him into the editing room, which quickly became his own little haven. From then, he developed into one of the top editors in the nation, collaborating with the best short film and commercial talent. He started his career as a “Ad film Director” in 2002, and by 2004, his boutique production company, Brown Skins, was well-known in the competitive field of making advertising films.

But this amazing homage to Goan musicians and their unsung contribution to the Indian film industry was the result of his unwavering drive to produce something that would be worthy of showcasing the depth of authentic Goan culture.

Bardroy’s dream of ten years is now a reality. And the result is a heartwarming tale about Goa’s passionate relationship with her music. A story that proudly rejects the limited classification of football, fun, and feni that is frequently applied to the state.
