Athiya Shetty, born on November 5, 1992, is an Indian actress known for her roles in Hindi films. As the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and director Mana Shetty, she stepped into Bollywood with movies like “Hero” (2015), “Mubarakan” (2017), and “Motichoor Chaknachoor” (2019).
Born in Mumbai, Shetty attended the Cathedral and John Connon School and later moved to the American School of Bombay. She pursued her passion for acting and went on to study at the New York Film Academy in New York City.
Her debut in Bollywood came with the film “Hero” in 2015, where she portrayed the character of Radha Mathur, an aspiring dancer. Despite mixed reviews, her performance earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Best Female Debut award. Following her debut, she became the face of Maybelline New York in India and graced the covers of prestigious magazines like Cosmopolitan and Harper’s Bazaar.
She later appeared in films like “Mubarakan” in 2017 and “Motichoor Chaknachoor” in 2019. In “Mubarakan,” she played the role of Binkle Sandhu, a simple Punjabi girl. Her performances received varied reviews in these movies.
