Indian actor Ashok, who was born on September 12, 1951, is well-known for his dramatic roles in Kannada cinema. Ranganayaki, Sanadi Appanna, Bayalu Daari, Archana, Chellida Rakta, Thayiya Madilalli, Raja Maharaja, and Krantiyogi Basavanna are some of his well-known films.
V. Lakshminarasimhaiah, a police officer and Puttamma in Anekal, was the father of Ashok. He wanted to be a movie star from an early age. He applied to the Madras Film Institute, the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and the National School of Drama (NSD) after earning his degree. After being accepted, he finished his studies at the Madras Film Institute.
Hennu Samsarada Kannu, in which he costarred with Sridevi, was his debut Kannada film. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he primarily starred in love films opposite popular heroines Manjula and Aarati. In addition, he established a modest business that provides the majority of his income. He was elected as the Karnataka Film Artists, Workers and Technicians Union’s first president in 1986. He also participates in a number of movements as an activist, such as the Raitha Sangha demonstrations and the Gokak movement.
