Ashmith Kunder is an Indian film professional with expertise in editing, production, and acting. Renowned for his editing work in acclaimed films such as Dasavatharam (2008), Shor in the City (2010), and Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women (2003), he made his acting debut in the Amazon Prime original series, The Family Man. Kunder ventured into production with Babumoshai Bandookbaaz in 2017, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and also produced The Comedian, starring Satish Kaushik.
Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Kunder holds a degree in engineering (B.E. Instrumentation) from Mumbai University. He is related to filmmaker Shirish Kunder and director Farah Khan as his brother and sister-in-law, respectively.
Beginning his career as an associate editor for the film Champion in 2000, Kunder subsequently worked as an editor for numerous films, including 88 Antop Hill (2003), Mumbai Xpress (2005), and Lamhaa (2010). He also ventured into screenwriting, contributing to the script of Tees Maar Khan, directed by Farah Khan.
In 2017, Kunder collaborated with Kushan Nandy to produce Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, depicting the life of a contract executioner, portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Additionally, Kunder took on the lead role in the Hindi feature film Agam, where he portrays an Aghori Tantrik. The film received recognition at the 37th Cairo International Film Festival.
