Ashmit Patel

Biography:

Ashmit Patel, born on January 13, 1978, is a versatile Indian actor known for his work in Bollywood films and his appearance on the popular reality show Bigg Boss.

Ashmit Patel is the son of Amit Patel and Asha Patel. He is the younger brother of the renowned actress and model Ameesha Patel. Additionally, he is the grandson of Rajni Patel, a prominent lawyer and politician who served as the Congress Pradesh Committee President of Mumbai. The unique origin of his birth name is a combination of the first three letters of his mother’s name, Asha, and the last three letters of his father’s name, Amit. Ashmit Patel’s cultural background is a blend of Gujarati and “Sindhi Punjabi,” as described by his mother in an interview.

Patel received his education at the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai. He later pursued a bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Texas at Austin in the United States, graduating in 2000.

Ashmit Patel commenced his cinematic journey as an assistant director, collaborating with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt on several projects, including Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002), Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Raaz (2002), and Footpath (2003). His debut as an actor came with the film “Inteha,” directed by Vikram Bhatt.
