Appu N. Bhattathiri

Biography:

Indian film director and editor Appu N. Bhattathiri primarily works in the Malayalam film business. In 2017, he received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Editor for the movies Veeram and Ottamuri Velicham. Oraalppokkam, Ozhivudivasathe Kali, and Manhole, three more movies he edited, have won several Kerala State prizes. In 2021, Appu directed his first picture, Nizhal.

In 2011, Appu graduated with a BA (Hons) in Visual Effects from Image College of Arts, Animation, and Technology in Chennai. He worked with Jayaraj on the movie Of the People while he was an undergraduate. He got to know assistant director Srinath Rajendran during this period. Appu was selected by Srinath to serve as assistant editor for Second Show, his first feature film.
