Indian professional football player Anthony D’Souza was born on March 2, 1987, and he now plays left flank for Goa. D’Souza, who was raised in Siolim, Goa, began playing football at the SESA Football Academy before joining the Sporting Clube de Goa youth squad in 2006.
In the 2007–08 campaign, Velsao Pale received a loan from him. On May 28, 2010, the last day of the 2009–10 I–League season, D’Souza made his I–League debut with Sporting Goa against Chirag United.
In the 1-0 victory, D’Souza also scored his first goal as a professional, however Sporting Goa was still relegated to the I–League 2nd Division. D’Souza persevered with the team despite being demoted, and he scored five goals to assist them return to the I-League for the 2011–12 campaign.
After that, D’Souza joined Salgaocar in 2012, where he scored in each of the club’s three group stage matches to finish the 2012 Indian Federation Cup as the second-highest scorer among Indians.
On July 15, 2013, D’Souza signed an I-League contract with Pune F.C. following a season with Salgaocar. On September 29, 2013, he made his club debut against Shillong Lajong, substituting for Nikhil Kadam in the 88th minute as Pune drew the match 0–0. D’Souza had a serious ankle injury in March 2015 while working out with the India national team, which prevented him from playing for the majority of the 2015 campaign.
