Anil Senior

Biography:

Anil Senior is an Indian filmmaker, writer and director across Hindi Cinema, Television & OTT entertainment. His feature film directorial debut was the romantIc drama “Kaise Kahoon Ke…Pyaar Hai” (2003) (credited earlier as Anil Kumaar Sharma). He garnered critical acclaim for his multi starrer comedy drama “Dil Kabaddi”(2007/2008) starring Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Soha Ali Khan, and developed a highly versatile body of work over decades, spanning satire comedies to intense dramas, psychological thrillers and crime thrillers.

He is renowned for his versatile work across diverse platforms including Hindi Cinema, television, and digital entertainment OTT landscape before he transitioned full in to the digital space he was helming acclaimed tv shows namely “Siddhanth” (2004), ‘Private Investigator’ and for MTV’s Big F episodes.

He also provided second unit direction on mega budget commercial films such as Kabir Khan’s’s critically acclaim’d epic historical war series ‘The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye’ (2020) and SLB’s Blockbuster ‘83 (2021)’. He solidified his forte in the digital space with the gripping Psychological Thriller series Marzi (2020) for Voot Select & most recently the runaway hit revenge drama series ‘Gunaah’ (2024 – Season 1 & 2025 – Season 2) starring Gashmeer Mahajani & Surbhi Jyoti for Disney + Hotstar.

His visual sensibility and story telling skills that blend compelling characters, tight- suspense and commercial viability makes him a go-to director across both traditional and newer media.
