Amit Sana, born on March 1, 1983, in Bhilai, Madhya Pradesh (now Chhattisgarh), is a prominent Indian pop artist, playback singer, and live performer known for his participation in Indian Idol 1, where he reached the finals. He’s also been part of the show “Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar” and has lent his vocals to songs in Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Bengali, and Assamese language films.
Amit’s musical journey began at a tender age, singing at 3 and commencing classical training at 8 under the guidance of Late Shri R.R.Ghule. He later received professional classical singing instruction from his guru Late Shri Bimalendu Mukherjee, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh, for three years.
His foray into the limelight began with performances at the Bhilai Steel Plant and participation in various local and state-level music competitions, earning him recognition in the local music scene. His musical prowess led him to represent Chhattisgarh in the National Youth Festival in the Indian Classical genre.
His journey took a turn when he auditioned for Pop Stars on Channel V in 2002, followed by a successful audition for Indian Idol 1 in 2004, where he emerged as a finalist. Some of his notable performances on the show include renditions of songs like “Zindagi Mein Koi Kabhi Aaye Na Rabba,” “Bijuria,” “Yaaron Dosti,” “Woh Kisna Hai,” and “Mohabbatein Lutaunga.”
