Ali Selim is an American filmmaker and television personality who was born in 1960/1961. He has directed more than 850 TV ads, five half-hour documentaries, and a number of music videos in the last fifteen years. Selim is of German and Egyptian ancestry and was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Dr. Mohamed Ali Selim and his wife, Evelyn Niemeier, were his parents. He is the brother of two siblings. His father, an economics professor at the University of St. Thomas, passed away in 2015 at the age of 91.
