Alexx O’Nell, an American actor and singer who now resides in India and was given the name Alexander Leonard O’Neill on July 26, 1980, has made appearances in both English- and Indian-language movies, television shows, and music videos. Golondaaj, Roohi, Aarya, Main Aur Charles, Cheeni Kum, Madrasapattinam, Joker, Yeti Obhijaan, Chittagong, and Urumi (Ek Yodha Shoorveer) are some of his best-known works.
O’Nell started his acting career in American community and regional theater before moving on to television commercials in India and other countries. He eventually landed character roles and cameos in movies like the 2007 Hindi film Cheeni Kum and the 2007 English film Loins of Punjab Presents. Later, he was acknowledged for his participation in the wildly popular Indian celebrity dance competition Nach Baliye.
Madrasapattinam (2010) was O’Nell’s debut in a major leading role in a high-budget production. O’Nell returned to television after Madrasapattinam to star in the Indian historical drama Jhansi Ki Rani in the middle of 2010, and in the early part of 2011, he also made an appearance in a supporting role on the drama Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein. The Hindi language film Jo Dooba So Paar (2011), which stars O’Nell in a supporting part, was released in the latter half of 2011. After almost a year, O’Nell made a comeback in the 2012 films Joker by Shirish Kunder, which was released in late August, and Thaandavam by A. L. Vijay, which was released in late September. Then, on October 12, 2012, Bedabrata Pain’s Chittagong, in which O’Nell starred, was released.
O’Nell appeared in a double-lead role in the multilingual Urumi (2011),[8][9] and the unreleased English-language Vasco Da Gama,[8][9] (in which he plays a triple role) directed by acclaimed Indian director Santosh Sivan.
