Indian actor Akhil Iyer can be seen in TV ads and Bollywood movies. In the Hindi HIT – The First Case, which also starred Rajkumar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, he portrayed Rohit Rao. In the supporting part of Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014), he made his Bollywood debut.
Born in October 1987, Akhil was raised in Bangalore. His mother, Asha Iyer, is a gynecologist, while his father, Ram Iyer, is an orthopedic surgeon. Akhil has a single sibling. While attending St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School in Bangalore, Akhil participated in zonal cricket competitions. Akhil continued on to P.E.S. Institute of Technology, Bangalore South Campus, to complete his studies in computer science engineering (previously known as PES School of Engineering, Bangalore).
Playing the part of Mahesh in the Bollywood film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, Akhil made his cinematic debut and won critical acclaim. Up until 2011, Akhil lived and worked in Bangalore, where he continued his acting career with theater companies including Dramanon & Artists Repertoire Theatre. After that, he relocated to Chennai and signed Nijama Nizhala and Iruvar Ondranal. Akhil moved to Mumbai in 2013 after signing Lekar Hum Deewana Dil.
