Akashdeep Sengupta relocated to Mumbai from Kolkata. His love of music led the young man to write music for several tracks in different Hindi movies while he was living in the capital of cinema. Reminiscent of his talent are the scores from the films Kalank, Behen Hogi Teri, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Ana, 1920 London, Loveyatri, Bangda Paa Le, and Badhai Ho.
Sengupta was raised in an environment full of music because his father and uncles are musicians. He would frequently win singing contest rewards, coming in first or second most of the time in Kolkata.
Sengupta states, “I didn’t start considering music as a career until I was 16 years old.” Many people told me I was capable of more than just singing at small-scale performances. Additionally, I’d met vocalist Hariharan. He complimented my singing after I sang a few lines, which gave me a lot of encouragement.
Akashdeep chose to relocate to Mumbai at the age of eighteen in order to pursue a career in music.
Since I was ten years old, I have been studying Hindustani classical music, mostly vocal training and semi-classical compositions. Then I began studying studio music and gained an understanding of how a studio records music.
His parents encouraged him to relocate rather than pressuring him to sit for the required admission examinations for professional training, even though the family also had a large number of physicians and engineers.
