Biography:

Aditya Datt is an Indian director and writer who primarily works in Hindi films and digital entertainment industry. The son of renowned lyricist Anand Bakshi, he began his career at a very young age by assisting directors like Mahesh Bhatt, Vikram Bhatt, and Tanuja Chandra in films like Kasoor (2001), Raaz (2002), and Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar (2001).

He debuted as a director when he was just 21 years old through romantic thriller Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), and then went on to direct movies like Dil Diya Hai (2006), Good Luck! (2008), Will You Marry Me? (2012), and the critically-acclaimed survival thriller Table No. 21 (2013). Films directed by him combine commercial entertainment with thriller, romance, and action.

Datt made his entry into the OTT platform by directing the biographical web series Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone (2018-2019), which became a widely-praised show for his authentic portrayal of Sunny Leone’s life and career. He then directed Commando 3 (2019), the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar’s crime drama Bad Cop (2024) starring Gulshan Devaiah and Anurag Kashyap, and the extreme sports thriller action movie Crakk: Jeetegaa… Toh Jiyegaa (2024).

With his stylish visuals, quick pacing and versatility in the romance, action, thriller, and crime genres, Aditya Datt has proven himself to be a remarkable director of contemporary Hindi cinema.
