Tiger Shroff, born Jai Hemant Shroff, is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films. The son of actors Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Dutt, he debuted with the action romance Heropanti (2014), earning the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male. Shroff gained fame with commercially successful action films such as Baaghi (2016), Baaghi 2 (2018), and War (2019). However, his later films, including Heropanti 2 (2021), Ganapath (2023), and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), did not perform well at the box office.
Born on March 2, 1990, Shroff has a younger sister, Krishna Shroff. He has a diverse heritage with Gujarati and Turkmen ancestry on his father’s side and Bengali and Belgian descent on his mother’s side. His maternal grandfather, Air Vice Marshal Ranjan Dutt, was a Vir Chakra awardee.
A devout Hindu and devotee of Lord Shiva, Shroff credits his physique to his faith, fasting every Monday and during the Mahashivaratri festival. He studied at the American School of Bombay and has a strong background in martial arts, frequently helping other actors train. In 2014, he received an honorary fifth-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
In 2019, Shroff co-founded the mixed martial arts organization Matrix Fight Night (MFN). He appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2018 and 2019 and has also released several singles as a singer.
