Udhas’ early successes included albums like “Mukarar” (1981), “Tarrannum” (1982), “Mehfil” (1983), and “Pankaj Udhas Live at Royal Albert Hall” (1984). His breakthrough came with the 1986 film “Naam,” where his song “Chitthi Aayee Hai” became an instant hit, catapulting him to fame. This success opened doors for him as a playback singer in Hindi cinema, leading to numerous hit songs.

Pankaj Udhas hails from a musical family, with elder brothers Manhar Udhas and Nirmal Udhas also being accomplished singers.
