Biography:

Anil George is an Indian actor celebrated for his diverse roles in films like Mardaani and The Blue Umbrella. His acting journey commenced in 1999 with the film ‘Kabhi Paas Kabhi Fail,’ a comedy/family movie directed by Virendra Saini. This marked his debut alongside renowned actors such as Tom Alter, Sanjay Mishra, and Naseeruddin Shah. Following this, he appeared in ‘Hu Tu Tu’ directed by Gulzar, sharing the screen with Nana Patekar and Tabu.

In 2005, he portrayed a barber in the comedy/drama film The Blue Umbrella, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, which was based on a novel by Ruskin Bond and received a National Film Award. Anil’s notable performance came in 2012 with the romance/crime film ‘Miss Lovely,’ where he played Vicky Duggal, a producer of horror sleazy movies, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film received critical acclaim and several awards.

He continued to impress with roles in films like Mardaani, where he portrayed a lawyer named ‘Vakeel,’ directed by Pradeep Sarkar, and ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ (2015) alongside Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi. Anil’s versatility shone through in ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ (2016), where he played Srikant, and ‘Udanchoo’ (2016) as Dhanraj Singhania. Additionally, he depicted Jodha Singh in ‘Muzaffarnagar 2013’ (2016), and appeared in films like Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and Aur Devdas. Throughout his career, Anil George has demonstrated his talent and versatility across various genres, earning recognition and acclaim in the Indian film industry.
