Amitabh Bachchan was filming for his movie Laawaris throughout the 1980s. He was married to Jaya Bachchan and supposedly seeing Rekha at the time. According to accounts, the actor was more than just drawn to an Iranian dancer, and the actress learned about the purported romance from a third party.
Rekha made the decision to face the Shehenshah actor at that point. In Rekha: The Untold Story, a biography of the actress, it is stated that Rekha became enraged and confronted her “Amit Ji” about the rumours that the Zanjeer actor was in love with an Iranian dancer.
