Dil Raju and Nithiin, who are struggling with a series of failures, have made a film, Thammudu, to hit a hit under any circumstances. Directed by Sriram Venu, the trailer of the film has garnered good expectations. Dil Raju & team have been very organic in terms of promotions. And has the film managed to impress the audience? Let’s see.
Thammudu Movie Story: Jai (Nitin) prepares from India to win a gold medal in archery. If so.. When he was a child, he had a guilty feeling because of the mistake he made towards his sister. Why is he not able to perform at the right level. His friend Chitra (Varsha Bollamma) notices this and takes Jain to her elder sister. If so.. Jai, who wants to embrace his elder sister Snehlata (Laya) affectionately, meets Jhansi Kiranmayi in Ambaragodugu in danger. Jai’s aim becomes to take his elder sister & family out of the amber umbrella safely. From whom is Kiranmayi in danger of her life? What is the reason for this situation? Was Jai & Co able to get out of that forest safely? That forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Nithiin seemed to be lazy for some reason. Even though the emotion in the character is the same.. There was a dullness in his eyes too. It doesn’t matter a bit in the emotional scenes that come here and there, but overall, it must be said that he was not able to impress as an actor for the first time.
Laya has once again proved her mettle in the re-entry. The way she designed the character is also a bit interesting. Varsha Bollamma wanted to introduce a different angle in herself with this film. Sapthamigowda’s name is the heroine, but there is only one scene in the hero combination. Her dialogues are irritating.
It would have been nice if the director had once thought about who is still speaking that slang, no matter how much the forest is. The way Saurabh Sachdev has designed the character is good. If so.. Keeping him in a room and running the whole story did not work out. Saurabh’s performance was impressive.
Technical Aspects: One of the few plus points for the entire film is the background music of Ajaneesh Loknath. He tried to elevate with a little coos. The lighting differences are visible as the trio of Guhan-Satyajit-Sameer have worked as cinematographers in a phased manner. Tried to cover maximum with DI but.. They couldn’t convince much. Technicalities like editing, CG, and colouring tried to save the project to the best of their ability. Director
Analysis: Some stories are good on paper. If so.. When the story is turned into a two-and-a-half-hour film, just the core point is not enough; the drama has to grow, and the emotion has to work out. Above all, the audience has to travel with that story. All this is missing in the film Thammudu. Because of that, the audience could not be impressed.
Venu Sriram’s idea of making the story of Thammudu into a racy thriller is good and the core point is also good. If so.. The story has become the main minus of the film. Thereby.. Emotion is missing in the dialogues. So Sriram’s thoughts are good. The way they were cultivated on screen did not work out. The fact that the police come to the border properly and stops and the Magadheera-style fight scene is not at all logical at all tests the patience of the audience.
Verdict: Overall, Thammudu is a boring film to watch. Sriram Venu has not been able to impress the audience as a storyteller and director, and sadly, Nithin has to wait for some more time to score a hit.
Bottom Line: Overdose of action
Rating: 2/5
