Namitha Says Women Should Have Freedom In Traditions

Namitha has stayed away from films in recent years but remains active through interviews and social media. In a recent interview she questioned why marriage traditions place more expectations on women.

She openly asked why only women should wear a Thaali and bindi or follow certain customs after marriage while men face fewer such rules for sure.

Namitha also questioned few traditions like Varalakshmi Vratham, where wives pray for their husbands well being and much long life.

She asked why similar practices are not expected from husbands. The actress further said that the Bhagavad Gita, Vedas and Puranas do not make wearing a Thaali compulsory for women.

She believes women should have the freedom to choose which traditions they follow for sure.
