Movie tickets pricing issue in the state of Andhra Pradesh has been a hot topic of discussion among the industry bigwigs and the distributors across the state. Challenging the government’s GO on the ticket prices, a few theatre owners and exhibitors approached the High Court. Yesterday, news also came out that the division bench has pushed the hearing to Feburary 10th.
Meanwhile, this morning, raising his voice against AP government regarding the ticket prices GO, controversial director Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter and demanded justice to the film industry and the members who are dependent on it. Tagging the AP cinematography minister Perni Nani, RGV suggested the government to work towards the betterment of the state but “not to sit on the top of our heads”.
Incidentally, RGV is the director who helped YSRCP during the 2019 elections by making a film titled, Lakshmi’s NTR by defaming the then chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu.
Dear honourable minister of cinematography @perni_nani Sir, I would like your honourable team to understand that pricing of heroes like @alluarjun@pawankalyan@urstrulymahesh etc is nothing but a subtract between production cost and the expected recovery based on track record
Dear honourable minister of cinematography @perni_nani Sir, I would request you to understand that your government has been given power to support from the bottom and not to sit on the top of our heads ..Thank you very much 🙏
It is not my request, but it is my demand to all my colleagues in the film industry to speak up on their true feelings about the ticket rates issue because ippudu nollu moosukunte inkeppatikee theravaleru ..Tharvatha Mee kharma
