The much-anticipated release of the film Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Chiyaan Vikram and directed by Gautam Menon, has faced repeated delays due to financial issues. Although shooting wrapped up a while ago, the movie couldn’t hit theaters because of financial hurdles. To settle these issues, Gautam Menon aimed to collect over 50Cr+ through non-theatrical business deals.
Initially, it seemed all set for the film’s release on November 24th after the team announced the release date, unveiled the trailer, and completed censor formalities. Menon negotiated digital rights with Netflix and satellite rights with Kalaignar TV, generating optimism that the financial problems would be resolved.
However, recent reports indicate that the financial hurdles persist. Finalizing the deals and negotiations are still ongoing, raising concerns about another potential delay in the film’s release. If Menon fails to secure the full amount from the non-theatrical business within the next few days, there’s a significant chance the release might be postponed again.
Dhruva Natchathiram, a spy thriller featuring Vikram as an Indian spy alongside Ritu Varma, Simran, Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhika, Jailor Vinayakan, and Arjun Das, was shot in 2016 and was initially slated for a 2017 release. Vikram’s fans have been eagerly awaiting the film for seven years, hoping that their long wait will finally conclude in the upcoming days.
