RGV before promoting the film said, “Unfortunately, Lakshmi’s NTR became the first film to divide Telugu people as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The movie is releasing in Telangana and we will try to sort out issues soon, to release it in AP too!”
The director might not have thought that his film will drive audiences from AP to Telangana. Many people from neighboring villages and cities from border districts did drive to the other stare to watch the film, it seems.
Also, at the Overseas market, Lakshmi’s NTR debuted higher than NTR Mahanayakudu and the movie team is happy that with less budget and unknown actors they could beat some bigwigs. But the movie seems to have fizzled out after a good weekend.
The promotions and marketing did help RGV to get audiences into the theaters but he did not deliver a film that he promised. Let’s see how the figures will be at the end of the first week.
