Artificial intelligence is slowly becoming a part of everyday human life. Today AI is being used in many fields from daily activities to complex areas like filmmaking and robotics. In movies the growing use of AI has created mixed opinions among filmmakers and audiences.
Legendary Hollywood director James Cameron has openly spoken against the use of AI in films. While interacting with Rajamouli ahead of the release of Avatar 3, Cameron said AI is “dangerous”.
He explained that AI can now easily create visuals that look like Avatar something that was not possible earlier.
According to him, people do not go to theatres to watch average or copied visuals. Cameron believes that such easy access to visuals takes away creativity and the special magic of cinema.
On the other hand some modern filmmakers support AI, saying it reduces time and helps in faster visualization. Viewers are also divided on this issue. While AI saves time it still cannot replace real human emotions and imagination in filmmaking.
