Is Penguin a mix of Stranger Things and Kahani?

Amazon Prime Video announced the premier of Penguin, a movie with Keerthy Suresh as lead by young director Eashvar Karthic, who is debuting and Karthik Subbaraj produced the film. Movie trailer released on 11th June and several people started talking about it as an amalgamation of Stranger Things and Kahani. Stranger Things first season has friends and mother of Will, searching for him but it takes another route from realistic serial killer story with upside down world, monsters and kid with powers – Eleven.

Kahani has the female lead as a pregnant and her fight to find a mafia leader was told in an intriguing way. Penguin has both the points in the story and serial killer seems to be portrayed in a very serious way just like Rakshasudu. The imagery that Eashvar Karthic presented in the trailer itself, gives us chills and there are many mythological undertones as well. Let’s wait for premiere on 19th June, to find out.
