Biography:

Yugendran, born Yugendran Vasudevan on December 20, 1976, is a multifaceted Indian artist known for his work in music, acting, hosting, and television production. He hails from a prominent family, being the son of the late Malaysian-origin Tamil playback singer and actor, Malaysia Vasudevan. Yugendran’s two sisters, Pavithra and Prashanthini, are also accomplished artists, with Prashanthini making her mark as a Tamil playback singer in films.

Yugendran’s journey in the music industry began at a young age when he made his debut solo performance as a Mridangamist at the age of 10. He had the privilege of performing with renowned artists like Dr. Balamurali Krishna and Ilaiyaraaja. Initially, he sang the female portions of duets his father performed on stage. Later, he transitioned into solo performances in various countries, even before becoming a playback singer. His debut as a playback singer was with the song “Pollaachi Santhaiyile” in the film “Rojavanam,” and he went on to sing for several renowned music directors, including A. R. Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and many others. He is known for his versatile singing career, with his most recent work in the song from the film “Goa.”

Aside from his music career, Yugendran has made a mark in acting, both in films and television serials. He made his acting debut in the movie “Poovellam Un Vasam” opposite Ajith Kumar and Jyothika and appeared in several films alongside actors like Vijay. He has also acted in TV serials such as “Savithree,” “Kolangal,” “Megala,” and “Idhayam.”

In addition to his music and acting endeavors, Yugendran has ventured into hosting various television programs, including musical shows and reality contests. He has also transitioned into TV production through his companies, Rambutan Productions and Rambutan Media Works, producing programs for various countries. His career has spanned across multiple entertainment domains, making him a versatile and accomplished artist.
