Vinnie Jones

Biography:

British actor, broadcaster, and former professional football player Vincent Peter Jones was born on January 5, 1965. From 1984 until 1999, Jones was a professional defensive midfielder, most notably for Queens Park Rangers, Wimbledon, Leeds United, Sheffield United, and Chelsea. Due to a Welsh grandparent’s qualification, he also captained and played for the Welsh national team. He won the 1988 FA Cup final with the London team, where he played more than 200 games over two stints between 1986 and 1998. He is most known for his time at Wimbledon as a key member of the renowned “Crazy Gang.” In 184 Premier League games, he scored 13 goals.

Because of his extremely aggressive and physically unyielding style of play, Jones earned a reputation as one of the roughest football players in history. As a result, he was frequently portrayed in movies as vicious criminals and thugs. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), for which he won an Empire Award for Best Newcomer, marked the beginning of his acting career. He went on to win the Empire Award for Best British Actor for Snatch (2000).
