Vikas Chandra

Biography:

Vikas Chandra is an exceptionally successful Indian film director, showrunner, and screenwriter known mainly for being the showrunner for the award-winning crime thriller Amazon Prime television series Dahaad (2023), which he created alongside the directors Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. He hails from Mumbai and started building his career in the industry over the past decade by assisting in the film Ghajini (2008) as well as serving as an associate creative producer for the filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee on Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015). He was a Sundance Screenwriting Fellow, and Vikas Chandra directed his first feature film, Maya (2018), winning him multiple awards. His other works as an independent director include directing several popular TV series such as Amazon’s Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare and Mannphodganj Ki Binny.
