Vijay Krishnaraj, also recognized by the name R Krishnan, is an Indian actor, writer, and director actively involved in the Tamil film and television industry. His journey in Tamil cinema began as a story writer and dialogue writer, contributing to films like “Rosappu Ravikkaikari” in 1979. Subsequently, he expanded his repertoire by taking on acting roles, marking his debut in the Tamil film “Rajathi Rojakili,” where he appeared alongside Sulakshana under the direction of S. Devarajan. Throughout his career, he has been part of more than 100 films.

Born in Tiruchengode, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu, Krishnaraj initially made a name for himself as a story and dialogue writer, notably for films like “Rosappu Ravikkaikari,” “Kalthoon,” and “Ranuva Veeran.” He also ventured into screenplay writing, collaborating on six films with the renowned Telugu film director Ragavendara Rao. Krishnaraj’s storytelling skills shone in films such as “Aavathum Pennale Azhivathum Pennale,” “Kaalaiyum Neeye Maalaiyum Neeye,” “Poonthotta Kaavalkaaran,” “Sandhana Kaatru,” “Vaanmathi,” and “Vaimaye Vellum.” His performances in several movies, notably “Annan Ennada Thambi Ennada,” received critical acclaim.
