Actor Vedang Raina was born in India on June 3, 2000. The teen film The Archies (2023) directed by Zoya Akhtar made him famous for his portrayal as Reggie Mantle. Vedang Raina was raised in Mumbai after being born into a Kashmiri family in New Delhi on June 2, 2000. After graduating from Juhu’s Jamnabai Narsee School, he went on to Vile Parle’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (also known as SVKM’s NMIMS) to finish his bachelor’s degree.
He began modestly, participating in college festivals and events and loving his time on stage. Years before Raina ever considered acting, he became interested in music and started learning to play the guitar. As his time in college was coming to a conclusion, he made the decision to pursue modeling and music. After that, he signed up with an agency to make acting his career.
In 2021, Raina was scouted for The Archies by Zoya Akhtar following her modeling career for multiple brands. Until then, Raina said, he had not given acting any thought. In May 2022, it was officially announced that he would be portraying Reggie Mantle. In 2023, Netflix launched it. According to Scroll.in’s Udita Jhunjhunwala, he “brings the right amount of swag to the rakish Reggie”. Raina’s next role is in Alia Bhatt’s action movie Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala.
