Vaidy Somasundaram

Biography:

He made his cinematography debut in the Malayalam film Kanne Madanguka, following his graduation with a gold medal[citation needed] in film technology and cinematography from the M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute, Chennai. Then, he collaborated with Kasthuri Maan director A. K. Lohithadas on the film.

Later, he collaborated with Boopathy Pandian, a successful box office filmmaker, on the film Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambam. Additionally, he collaborated with Boopathy Pandian on the films Pattathu Yaanai and Malaikottai.

He is well-known for his roles in films with Pavan Wadeeyar, including Googly and Rana Vikrama. He was the recipient of a SIIMA Award for Best Kannada Cinematographer for Googly.

In collaboration with Santhosh Ananddram, Vaidy directed Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, for which he received the SIIMA Award for Best Kannada Cinematographer for a second year in a row. His two most well-known collaborations with P. C. Shekar are Romeo and Raaga.
