Urmilla Kothare is an Indian actress known for her work in Marathi cinema and television. She has appeared in popular Marathi films like “Duniyadari,” “Shubha Mangal Saavadhan,” and “Ti Saddhya Kay Karte,” as well as Hindi TV serials such as “Maayka” and “Mera Sasural.” Additionally, she has showcased her talent in Marathi serials like “Asambhav,” “Uun Paus,” and “Goshta Eka Lagnachi.” Apart from acting, Urmilla is also a trained classical dancer. She made her debut in Telugu cinema in 2014 with the film “Welcome Obama.”
In her personal life, Urmilla met her husband, Adinath Kothare, while working on the Marathi film “Shubha Mangal Saavdhaan” in 2006. They got married in 2011 and welcomed their first daughter, Jija Kothare, in 2018.
Urmilla was born in Pune and is a trained Kathak dancer, holding a Master of Arts degree in the art form. She has also received training in Odissi dance from Sujata Mahapatra in Bhubaneshwar. Urmilla participated in a program held for India’s Fiftieth Independence Day Celebrations in 1997. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.
“Shubh Mangal Savdhan” marked Urmilla’s debut film, and “Tujhya Veena” was her debut TV series. She collaborated with veteran actress Reema Lagoo in her early films. Urmilla’s journey in the entertainment industry began with her debut movie, where she also met her husband, Adinath Kothare, who was working as an assistant director.
