Indian cinematographer U. K. Senthil Kumar has experience in both the Tamil and Malayalam film industry. Senthil Kumar, a Coimbatore native and alumnus of the Government Film Institute, Chennai, classes of 1989–1992, has contributed to roughly 50 films.
Senthil Kumar made his feature film debut in 1993 with Manobala’s Karuppu Vellai. He then worked solely for director Sundar C in the late 1990s and early 2000s, till Prasad Murella replaced Sundar in Sundar’s teams.
He kept up his job in hastily produced, low-budget movies and gained recognition as a skilled cameraman. In 2006, he also acted in the movie Kusthi. After that, he resumed his collaboration with Sundar C on the critically acclaimed comedies Kalakalappu (2012) and Aranmanai (2014).
He has also assisted politicians with their publicity efforts; for example, he helped produce holographic movies for Narendra Modi’s 2014 campaign and became known as the best cameraman in the country.
In addition, he provided election support to Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekar Rao. In addition to these endeavors, he raised his flag in Tamil television series. The supernatural television series Nandini was another one of his successful endeavors.
