Biography:

Teyana Me Shay Jacqueline Taylor is an American singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, choreographer, and music video director. She was born on December 10, 1990. In addition to being nominated for an Academy Award, two Actor Awards, a British Academy Film Award, and a Grammy Award, she has won a Golden Globe, two Critics Choice Awards, and an NAACP Image Award. Time named her one of their 2026 Women of the Year.

She signed a recording deal with Star Trak Entertainment, the Neptunes, and choreographed Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm” music video when she was fifteen. During this time, Taylor published her debut single, “Google Me,” and appeared as a dancer in Jay-Z’s “Blue Magic” music video. Her contributions to Kanye West’s “Dark Fantasy” and “Hell of a Life” from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010) brought her greater prominence.

She joined West’s GOOD Music in 2012 and made an appearance on Cruel Summer, the label’s compilation album, which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. The R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list was topped by her 2014 debut studio album, VII. Taylor won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography for her role in the co-choreography of Kanye West’s “Fade.”
