Biography:

Indian actress and beauty pageant winner Swaroop Rawal (née Sampat; born November 3, 1958) has acted in a number of Hindi-language movies. Her performances in television serials like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and the films Naram Garam and Nakhuda have made her well-known. She began her professional life as a model, competing in the Miss Universe 1979 pageant as the Femina Miss India Universe 1979 champion.

Swaroop graduated from the University of Worcester with a PhD in education. She focused on employing theater to improve life skills in kids with learning difficulties for her doctoral thesis. Playing Shafi Inamdar’s wife in the wildly popular TV sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi helped Swaroop Sampat achieve stardom.

According to reports, she had turned down another significant television serial at the time because she thought Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’s storyline was very poignant and that it effectively captured the everyday lives and activities of regular people. She is pleased with her choice because the serial became an unprecedented smash. She also starred in the movie Karishma, which starred Kamal Haasan and Reena Roy.

She is a trainer that travels around India to give teachers seminars in order to share this knowledge for the good of the kids. Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat at the time, chose her to oversee a children’s educational initiative. She was chosen from 10,000 nominations from 179 countries to be one of the top 10 global finalists for the Varkey Foundation’s Global Teacher Prize.  Actor Paresh Rawal and Swaroop are wed. She stars in plays that her husband directs and performs in. Aditya and Aniruddh are their two sons.
