Indian screenwriters Suhas and Sharfu are employed in Malayalam film industry. Starting with Varathan in 2018, they wrote five films in total.They met via social media and the short film network; both were engineers before pursuing careers in film. Sharfu hails from Kozhikode, whereas Suhas is from Thirupunithura. Sudani From Nigeria, released in 2018, had Suhas as assistant director and Sharfu as associate director.
They got to know Amal Neerad through one of the film’s producers, Sameer Thahir. “We had approached Amal Neerad with another script, that didn’t work out instead Varathan came to be,” Suhas stated in an interview regarding their debut film. The film got positive reviews. The Suhas–Sharfu team wrote a strong screenplay, according to The Hindu. Every woman may identify with how they realistically depict various nuances of misogyny, voyeurism, and the drama and paranoia that follow.”
Following Varathan’s box office triumph, they were asked to co-write the Virus screenplay with Muhsin Parari by filmmaker Aashiq Abu. The Nipah virus outbreak that occurred in Kerala in 2018 served as the backdrop for the film. The film was a box office hit and won praise from critics.
Suhas and Sharfu collaborated as co-writers for Karthick Naren’s Maaran, which starred Dhanush, in March 2020.[4] Mixed reviews greeted the film’s March 11, 2022, premiere. Puzhu, starring Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvothu, was their next release. Based on a script by Harshad, the author of the film Unda, it was Ratheena P. T.’s first feature film. The screenplay way co-written by Suhas, Sharfu, and Harshad.[ The film, which had a direct-to-digital distribution, was well received by critics.
