American film producer and businessman Steven Elliot Tisch was born on February 14, 1949. In addition to being a producer of movies and television shows, he serves as chairman, co-owner, and executive vice president of his family’s NFL franchise, the New York Giants. He is the son of Preston Robert Tisch, a former co-owner of the Giants.
Tisch produced several short films as a young man with support from Columbia Pictures. After leaving Columbia in 1976, he made Outlaw Blues, his debut feature film. In 1983, he followed up with Risky Business, which starred Tom Cruise in his first major role.
